Cole's site is nuttig voor iedereen die geinteresseerd is in de ontwikkelingen in de Arabische wereld. Als bonus vertaalt hij regelmatig een vers van Omar Khayyam. Dit is misschien niet Omar zijn mooiste maar de gedachte aan de hulpeloosheid van de sterren ontroert mij.
Khayyam was een genie van het type Leonardo: astronoom en wiskundige, maar ook dichter, maar dan in het Perzie van de 11 de eeuw. De Verlichting kwam in Iran eerder dan in Europa.
